Writing to Taste Life Twice

First in the Moment then in Retrospect

A week after being promoted, I managed to get some footage to share. Definitely surprised and didn't know if what I said made sense, but here it is anyway.

In the video, the belt was passed around to motioned on the forehead as if to wipe sweat off. This is a special tradition in my school that represents the struggle to achieve and serves as a reminder that hard work is valuable. My first experience of this was when growing up in Hawaii taking Kenpo Karate. I believe I was 6 or 7 at the time. This stuck with me ever since.

My rawest moment in my Brazilian Jiu Jitsu journey. A memory that will last a lifetime. Thank you to everyone who shared this special day with me!
